Midnight Supper

PC250407, originally uploaded by A Family On A Mission.

Bolo and Jenny invited us to their home on Christmas Eve for the holidays. They also invited Nuvia and her kids as well as Francesca and her family who a year ago lost their dad and husband. It was a great time of listening to them sing songs, talk and see the kids play. The kids also got to open a few gifts and it was fun to see how excited they were for their gifts. Also in their neighborhood they had a parade of children dressed up as Mary and Joseph, shepherds and king's. There were lots of fireworks and lots of music playing around the neighborhood. The tradition is to have supper at midnight to celebrate the beginning of the day of Christ's birth. The kids' did pretty good staying up late but it was hard for them to wait until midnight to eat supper. Travis brought some snack foods which helped tide them over. It was a great night and fun to celebrate the holidays with friends. Of course we missed spending the holidays with our families but we got the next best thing. We are looking forward to many more holidays in Cuenca and are thankful that Bolo and Jenny shared the day with our family.
